There is nothing really big left to discover in the disciplines of Cognitive Systems 1 Dione 2 Word count: 398 3 4 In our fast-paced world, it is reasonable to think that discoveries will continue to happen. 5 For example, it would be difficult to imagine advances in technology coming to a stop because 6 there is nothing really big left to discover. This is similar in the disciplines of Cognitive Systems. 7 For the purpose of this essay, discovery will be defined as the action of being the first to find, 8 observe, design, or invent something scientific. I intend to refute my essay topic and argue that 9 there are big things left to discover in the disciplines of Cognitive Systems based on previous 10 research. I have three examples of potential discoveries to support this: an AI machine with human- 11 like consciousness, a memory decode system for the human brain, and a translation system for 12 animal communication. 13 14 With further research, it may be possible to discover an AI machine with human-like 15 consciousness.
