I am pursuing a BA degree in Health Administration. It is hard to believe that I only have one more year and I will have just that...A Bachler's degree!!! Before Ashford I attended certificate, schools and received a certificate as a Certified Nursing assistant and a MED TECH, while going to Ashford I attended a school at the same time a received a certificate as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. In five years, I would want to be a manger or supervisor over the personnel staff in the office and maybe overlooking the ER as well. Healthcare administrators manage hospitals, specific departments or clinical areas within the hospital. T o be the administrator over the entire building I would most likely have to have a master’s degree or a certificat ion. However, H ealthcare administration certification is not necessary at hospitals. Only required in nursing home facilities in all states and assisted-living facilities may require it in some states.
