COMPARISON PAPER2Comparison PaperIn this paper I will discuss the Founding Documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I will also discuss a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists in 1802. I will compare each of these documents and I will also answer the following question: “What do you think the signers of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution thought about the separation of church and state or about the separation of God from government?” Founding DocumentsIn this section I am going to discuss the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists. I will compare each document and see how they are important. Each of these documents played a very important role in founding this nation. Declaration of IndependenceThe Declaration of Independence was the first of these documents to be written. Thomas Jefferson drafted it in June of 1776 and was later adopted by Congress on the 4th of July in 1776.The purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to break ties with British rule and become an independent nation. The original thirteen colonies discussed the issues they had with the Kingof England and Thomas Jefferson believed that since King George III had no interest in their rights that he should not be allowed to reign over the citizens of the United States. It was a list ofgrievances against the King of England.
