CAPSTONE PROJECT 2Missing titleThe nursing profession has been facing countless issues within the past decade that have been affecting the quality of care provided for patients. Healthcare continues to increase in demand while there is a lack of nurses available. This not only affects patients, but it also affects nurses, other healthcare providers, and healthcare facilities. This paper will exploreingthe depths of this issue and steps facilities and staff can take to minimize the effects of this issue to increase qualityin healthcare.Nursing shortages have been a nationwide epidemic affecting healthcare facilities. As current baby boomers age, there are not enough incoming students in the nursing profession to keep up with the growing demand (Rosseter, 2017). This issue of not having enough individuals in the nursing profession has expanded to the units of healthcare facilities which is impacting the current number of nurses available to work. The shortage creates a work environment where nurses are consistently under pressure and stressed. This drives out many nurses,and without anynew incoming nurses, the ratio of incoming and outgoing nurses remains unbalanced. According
