COURSE DESCRIPTIONSPCH 1311 Introduction to Speech Communication (3 credits):Theory and practice of speech communicationbehavior in one-to-one, small group, and public communication situations are introduced. Students learn more aboutthemselves, improve skills in communicating with others, and prepare and deliver formal public speeches. (This is aDCCCD Core Curriculum course.)SPCH 1311 Required Prerequisites:In order to be successful in this course, you must possess college-level skills inreading, writing, and speaking. If you are in doubt about your skill level, please contact your instructor.College-Level Readingis the ability to analyze and interpret books, articles, and documents.
