Main Primary Source Analysis:
The primary source that will be analyzed includes
excerpts from three testimonies, from
holocaust victims. First, we have a Jewish priest, who intensely describes two personal
encounters with the suffering and horrors of the Holocaust and cries his inability to intervene or
protest on behalf of his people. Second, we have, a religious Jew from Poland, who describes
what happened to the Jewish community in his town, including the murder of his grandmother,
which he witnessed. He latter also speaks of his experiences in slave labor and concentration
camps and tells how he was able to retain his faith and humanity. Lastly, we have a survivor of
the “Warsaw ghetto, Majdanek and Auschwitz (Yale, 2014)
”, and she speaks of her wartime
experiences. She mentions how she was a very immature sheltered little girl and when war broke
