PHYS 1101-3L3General Physics I LabSummer I 2018Ex. 5 The Addition and Resolution of Vectors: The Force Table Edith ArtolozagaPartner(s): Dominque Campos, Javier Garcia, Donato CardenasInstructor: Mr. HollandDate of Experiment: 6/14/18
PurposeThe objective for this experiment is to train and show the student how to add a set of vectors as well as find the resultant of those vectors. This will be done graphically, analytically, and experimentally. By this, it will demonstrate the difference between each method of adding vectors and will show the relativeness between all 3 additions.TheoryThe main idea behind this experiment is Vector Addition. What this means is the addition of different distances at different angels, which are considered magnitude and direction. There are three methods to calculate the addition of vectors. The first one talked about in this experiment is the Graphical Method, which is basically calculating the vectors by drawing and graphing them. The vectors are added by the Triangle Method. This method is basically drawing the three vectors in a way that they connect each other
