eLOGS Quick Start InstructionseLogs is a clinical tracking tool which you will use to enter your all of your clinical data.The eLogs system tracks your clinical time by adding the time you enter for eachencounter. This total amount becomes your proof of clinical time for each course and foryour final professional portfolio.Documenting clinical experiences is a requirement ofthe College in order to graduate; such documentation may be required by the state thatyou seek recognition in as an advanced practice nurse or the board certifyingorganization with whom you will be testing.WebsiteYou will access the clinical documentation site at:grad.elogs.orgStep 1Click Student LoginStep 2Using the login information provided to you by CCN, enter your username andpasswordStep 3Select line 24 “My Favorites” and set the 3 default values for the current term(preceptor’s name, course number, professor’s name).You will need to do this at thestart of every termNote:If your preceptor is NOT listed in the drop down box, please contact yourPracticum Coordinator. Your OC will need to provide the information to the clinical officein order to get your preceptor added to the application.DO NOT contact eLogs.Step 4Save, download and print the eLogs Help Guide. Read the instructions and explore theapplication before you begin making entries.
How to Enter Patient Encounters and Clinical TimeTab #1: New EncounterYou must do this for every patient you see in clinical.Each patient entry includes anumber/minute’sbox, this is where you enter the amount of time you spend on thispatient encounter. This is not just the face to face time but begins the moment you openthe chart and ends when you have completed charting.
