Plagiarizing can be intentional or unintentional; either way, it is still considered illegal. I believe that instructors consider plagiarism a “serious misdeed” because it not only shows them that the student is dishonest, but also that they are incapable of communicating their ownthoughts. Plagiarizing also affects what the student learns. If they are just relaying someone else’s thoughts, they don’t get a proper grasp on the subject they are supposed to be learning about. Students who plagiarize may feel that it is an easy way to get a good grade in the course. I think that they feel this way because they believe that the information they should belearning won’t impact their futures. They are focused on just making it through the course by
