Our lesson this week discusses the characteristics involved as compatibility, complexity, trialability, relative advantage, and observability (CCN, Lesson 3, 2018). my clinical question would be, how often replacement of long term urinary catheter should be done to prevent CAUTIs? In this project tangible resources would be Foley catheter kits usage and intangible resources would be change in policy and educating nursing staff to recognize need in changing Foley catheter if required. Occurrence of CAUTI account for a large proportion of the harms caused by health care and are associated with high costs. Better evaluation of the costs of these infections could help providers and payers to justify investing in prevention.
