Meghan Hampton Personal Wellness Portion Distortion 9/23/13 How Life Has Changed Over the Years What is portion distortion? Portion distortion is situations where people tend to regard excessive portions as normal amounts. Taking the portion distortion quizzes online showed me how the portion sizes of food we eat have changed over the years. I learned that the portion sizes have doubled and some even tripled. This contributed to unhealthy eating habits that may lead to obesity. Food companies are introducing bigger burgers, burritos, pizzas, and sandwiches. In order to stay in shape or healthy you have to burn the calories you take in. For example, eating 430 calories you will need an hour and 5 minutes of aerobic dance to burn those calories. The information that I learned will affect me physically because I will start working out more. I would like to at least start at going to the gym three times a week and then once I get into working out I will continue daily. Mentally, because by eating healthy and working out my mind
