His goal was to bring political awareness, so democracy would better itself. 2.How does Socrates show that he is not an atheist?One of Socrates life goal was to prove the Oracle of Delphi wrong. When the Oracle said, he wasthe “wisest of all men.” During Socrates speech to the council, he said that he had a God that toldhim when he was about to do something stupid. Back then, they had no idea of a conscious. Socrates wasn’t charged as a full atheist, but charged in not believing in Athenian Gods. When Socrates was trying to understand the Oracle by seeing other politicians and poets, they accused him of being impure. He didn’t believe and preach the same things that they did. They kept accusing him of corrupting the youth with his impure teachings. When Socrates had the option toteach Philosophy their way, he denied. He didn’t want to live a fake life.
