Ali Cataggio Lab #2 Simple Harmonic Motion Ali Cataggio Lab Partners: Amir Ghaemi, Juseph Gomez, Courtney O’Connor Hypothesis or Objective or Abstract: Measure spring constant (k) using dynamic and static measurements. Find equilibrium of each type of oscillator (spring or rubber band), as well as measure the displacement and weight of the spring. Equipment: Ruler, Coil Spring, Rubber Band, Weights and Weight Hanger, Stopwatch, and Digital Scale Procedure: Hang a rubber-band / spring on a support and suspend a weight hanger from them. Add weight to the weight hanger and measure at the bottom of the weight hanger to find y1. Constantly add weight to the weight hanger and record them on your sheet (y2,y3,y4, ect.). Plot the total suspended weight versus elongated positions and draw a smooth curve that best fits the plot points. Using a stopwatch calculate the period of the spring by measuring the amount of oscillations for a few seconds. Record on the table provided. Divide the total time by the number of oscillations to determine the average point. Repeat several times and record in the tables provided. Plot a graph of the average

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
