LAB 1 Lab Partners: Courtney Ali Danny Mike Hypothesis: In this experiment, we measured the mass and calculated the volume and density o Steel Ball, Wooden Cylinder, and Aluminum Cylinder. Each of the calculations were d five times to provide a good average. The purpose of this experiment is to get familiarized with basic measurement tools such as the micrometer, vernier caliper, a using the scale as well as to learn how to use the concepts of the significant figures, experimental error and some methods of error and data analysis in your experiment measurements. Equipment:  Ruler  Caliber  Wood cylinder  Aluminum cylinder  Steel sphere  Scale Procedure: Take the measurements of the height, diameter, and mass of all three objects given (wood cylinder, aluminum cylinder, and steel sphere) 5 times. Copy them down into tables below. When finished find the average, standard deviation, ESU, and the uncertainty of each column.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
