Ali Cataggio Lab 3: Dampening Force Physics 204 Lab Partners: Amir Ghaemi, Nathan Shriner, Courtney O’Connor, Theodore Whittock, Juseph Gomez Hypothesis or Objective or Abstract: In this lab we were challenged as a group to create and test an experiment that would help us measure the dampening force (gamma: ɣ ) of a spring with weight on it in either water or air. If your group decided to do the dampening factor in the air you would cut out a cardboard circle bigger than the weight that you chose to be on your weight holder and measured how long it took for the amplitude to become half. If your group chose to do the dampening factor of a spring with water than you had a beaker full of water to measure the time of the amplitude becoming half. Given free range of the objects in the lab and a few suggestions from the professor my group decided to test the dampening force of a constant weight (.405 kg) on a spring in a beaker of water. Equipment: Spring stand Spring Weight holder Timer Slow-motion camera Ruler Calculator Beaker Weights Computer

"Before using Course Hero my grade was at 78%. By the end of the semester my grade was at 90%. I could not have done it without all the class material I found."

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
