Kennedy Unit 6 Criminology Review 1. Identify and discuss two different goals that the criminal justice system has. One of the types of deterrence is general deterrence which is when the law puts punishments on criminals so that individuals can see them and not want to commit the crimes. Specific deterrence is when a certain person isgiving a punishment in hopes that it will stop that person from committing the same crime. 3.
