Psyc 250 28 November 2007 Assignment Two 1. Vada, the main character is an 11 year old girl who grew up without a mother, and had a father who paid her little attention. Living in a funeral home, she is surrounded by death which encourages her to be a hypochondriac, believing that she has whatever problem the most recent corpse died of. She also believes she killed her mother, who in actuality died in childbirth. 2. By the end of the movie, Vada and her father are much closer. The death of her best friend forces her to release her emotions to the people around her. This helps her to solve a lot of the issues she has. 3. Vada had only one friend. She is a hypochondriac. She is surrounded by death all the time. She is convinced that she killed her mother. She has an extreme obsession with her teacher, which is strong enough that she steals money to take his writing class. She also has a minimal relationship with her father. 4. Vata’s symptoms are intense, frequent and long lasting. She has a very real and defined
