Destiny Frasqueri, better known as Princess Nokia released her debut album 1992 Deluxe on September 2017. This album is wavering, reflective, and sometimes very chaotic – serving to complicate than define and explain the New York rapper’s identity. She is an Afro-Nuyorican (Afro-Puerto Rican from New York for those that don’t know), ghetto ass bruja (meaning witch; before y’all start thinking crazy here’s an article explaining it and how it relates to Latinx culture), and urban feminist. This is who she is but much more. This album is an expansion and remastered version of her 2016 1992 EP with seven new songs. It is basically the pinnacle of half a decade’s hype, during which Princess Nokia released three EPs under other names including this current moniker (Wavy Spice and Destiny). 1992 Deluxe demonstrates Princess Nokia’s adaptability and extensive music education. The thematic range is harmonized with the diversity of some supersonic influences on this album. “Bart Simpson”, the opening track
