2 Leading Organizational Change Leading Organizational Change During these past five weeks of this course, the author has learned different aspects and outcomes of certain leadership styles and what a leader must do in order to become a great leader for their organization. The course has given the author a chance to assess and apply what she has learned through research and real organizations that has been either successful or failed because of leadership decisions made and strategic organizational changes. Also, during the course, the author has learned through an assessment with LCP that her leadership style is more creative than reactive. Although creative leaders are effective they also have their downfalls like complying in order to make everyone happy, which in turn can lose them their leadership power. The text talks about how “organizational structures are designed at a higher order of complexity and performance than one’s consciousness, they encourage individual consciousness to develop to that same level of complexity. Thus, systemic and personal transformations are interdependent” (Anderson & Adams, 2016). The author will discuss and evaluate an action plan for Walmart organizational change process. She will be applying all concepts learned from the course to address the process, steps, and leadership actions that will be taken. Organizational Change Steps There are many reasons why an organization might need a change, it can be to increase or improve performance and profit, to stay ahead of competitors, or just to take the company in a whole different direction. It is not easy for a company to make those changes over night, there are a lot of obstacles that can get in the way. Some of these obstacles may be the leader itself or the employees not cooperating.
