Psych 250 13 September 2007 Psychopathology in Females with Attention - Deficit /Hyperactivity Disorder : A Controlled, Five-Year Prospective Study This study was conducted to increase the amount of data gathered on females with ADD/ADHD. Over a five-year period, girls between the ages of 6 and 18 were measured (blind study) in their psychological health such as troubled behavior, drug use and mood and anxiety disorders. After five years, the girls were all checked again, with the result that girls with ADHD were much higher at risk for developing a disorder then the non-ADHD girls. There was no specific hypothesis for this study, as the purpose was to gain data from a relatively unexplored area of female adolescent ADD/ADHD, but the researchers began with the general idea of testing the frequency of psychopathy later in the lives of girls with ADHD. The study is limited to the people it’s results can be applied to, because the female subjects needed to meet some requirements such as: IQ
