Caileigh Mahan Education 301 – 101 Malayna and Kristin 26 August 2018 Reflection One When beginning to read Rumelhart’s Schemata: The Building Blocks of Cognition, I had a basic understanding of what a schema was, but then reading the first few pages I was a little lost as to what he was attempting to explain. He states, “A schema, as part of its specification, the network of interrelations that is believed to normally hold among constituents of the concept in question” (pg. 35). This part made me feel confused on what a schema is and made me question what I already knew about schemas. However, when he further explained schemas relating to plays, it all became very clear.
