Choose one volcano that you find interesting to discuss. 1. Explain how the volcano formed. 2. What hazards (ashfalls, mudflows, pyroclastic flows, lava flows and volcanic gases) are associated with an eruption? 3. When is the last time the volcano erupted? 4. How often has the volcano erupted in the past century? 5. What is the likelihood that the volcano will erupt in the near future? 6. Name AT LEAST one other interesting feature that you found out about this volcano. The volcano I chose for this post is Yellowstone which is located mostly in Wyoming, a little bit of Montana, and a small portion of it in Idaho. The reason I decided to do it on this volcano is because I actually visited it as a young lad and was interested in it. I asked the tour guide tons of questions. This volcano was formed by a hotspot. Around 600 thousand years ago, Yellowstone’s hotspot sent hot magma to the surface forming a magma chamber. As more magma was gathering in this chamber it was then pushing on earth’s crust forming a large dome. The main hazards associated with this type of
