Stem cell research is an excellent example of the interdisciplinary impact of technology on society. I’m familiar with cells, which I learned are small units of life in Biology, however I am not too familiar with stem cells. From my current understanding of a cell, I would think that a stem cell would be a particular kind of cell that has a certain function. My first guess is that the stem cells function may be to protect us from sickness. Since I know that cells are units of life, I would assume that stem cells are also related to our life and may provide certain essentials that promote good health.
