2INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR COCA-COLACoca-Cola, a renowned multinational company that deals in beverage production andsales, also relies on several reliable information systems due to its global market reach.Headquartered in the USA, the company strives to ensure that information technology systems,which are used at different levels of its management ranks, are up-to-date and efficient (Reuters2018). Nevertheless, there is a need to incorporate other information systems that aim toinfluence better executive decisions in the company. Thus, adopting the Executive SupportSystems (ESS) will aid the company in critical decision-making, while the additional KnowledgeManagement System (KMS) will help in the capturing of special insights on the need foroperational adjustments for the company’s executives.The ESS and KMS systems will also enable the executives to brainstorm and developbetter decisions, which will improve the sustainability of Coca-Cola. ESS and KMS also enhancecoordination between different departments in the company. The coordination process isimportant in identifying any challenges, which are likely to arise in the company, and addressthem effectively. These systems will support the functionality of others in the company. Propertraining of personnel will be important in ensuring that both systems are fully integrated withinthe operations of Coca-Cola. The personnel also need to be informed of the potential benefitsthat both systems are likely to have by improving their day-to-day activities. This study presentsa proposed need for the Coca-Cola Company to adopt ESS and KMS in order to boost itsoperations, which means that the discussion will highlight the background of the company, theimportance of IT, the recommended information systems, their benefits, and end-user needsamong other relevant details.Company Background & Information Systems

The anchor product is the Coca-Cola soft drink. It wasfirst invested in 1886 by John Pemberton who was a pharmacist (Reuters, 2018). The formula forthe drink was eventually bought by Asa Candler who would later incorporate the Coca-ColaCompany. This formula remains a secret up to the current date, which has served as a majorimpetus for the good performance of the product on the market.
