1. Read the poem, “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” by Robert Frost. Explain how this poem connects to the story, “Do You Know Where I Am?” In the poem, “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” by Robert Frost, the author writes about how he found place in the forest he was very fond of but needed to move on so he could reach his destination. His fascination with the nature around him distracted from reaching his goal. This relates to Alexie’s short story because it acknowledges real life issues and experiences in a simplistic way. In Sherman’s short story, a young couple notices their differences but does not let it distract them from wanting to stay together forever. 2. Read the poem, “All in Green Went My Love Riding,” by Robert Cummings. Explain how this poem connects to the story, “Do You Know Where I Am?” Both poems share a connection of strong romantic bonds. In the poem, “All in Green Went My Love Riding,” by Robert Cumming, the author writes about how he is so in love with the lady or the horse. He vows that nothing could possibly change that. This is idea is shared in Alexie’s short story because though the couple had their differences he could never separate himself from his wife.
