Compare and Contrast Ethical Standards
Establishing good ethical standards is important in healthcare organizations. It helps the
staff to be compliant with the healthcare facilities standards and guidelines. As well as, it
contributes to a more efficient and effective facility not only for those who work there but also
for those seeking care at these facilities. There are many similarities between AHIMA and
AAPC’s code of ethics. However, there are also some differences. Here I will discuss those
similarities and differences.
Some of the similarities between AHIMA and AAPC’s ethical standards are that they
both address the need for accurate coding and how essential that is to the health information
management field. Another similarity is the need for honesty and integrity in any situation that
