A.During reconstruction slavery was abolished and many laws regarding the treatment of both whites and blacks were created. Amendments such as the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery, the Fourteenth Amendment prohibited the citizens of the united states from violation each other’s rights, allowing for equal rights for everyone. There is also the Fifteenth Amendment guaranteed all American makes the right to vote, with no discrimination of race. The Southern Homestead Act allowed for freed blacks to be have preferential rights to public lands in five southern states, but the poor quality of the land defeated the purpose of the act. After the abolishment of slavery many white American men feared that their way of life would be threatened. Racism caused segregation between whites and blacks. After emancipation manystates enforced Black Codes to restrict the rights on emancipated blacks. So, even though
