COURTS, PROSECUTIONS, AND THE DEFENSE2The case involving Michael T. Slager a former North Charleston, South Carolina police and officer who shot and killed a fleeing and an unarmed black motorist in the back Walter L. Scott. Mr. Scott was pulled over by patrolman Slager for a damage tail light. Apparently, Mr. Scott was afraid or had feared the police officer, he jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The officer, patrolman Slager ran after him and shoot 8 rounds killing Scott from the back who was a black man (CNN, 2015). Scott family led by his older brother, Anthony Scott seeks justices in a federal district court which was granted. Scott mother said the sentence mattered a little to her because Slager admitted using excessive force which resulted in the death of her son Walter Scott. Though the mother said no amount of many years Michael Slager gets would bring back her son. She was
