To be a social worker, it is important to be “concerned” with the clients’ well-beings as well as social justice issues that may affect the client (Reamer, 2012, p. 6). The type of advocacy I engaged in this semester was community advocacy. At my workplace, there have been an increase in adolescents who are suffering from depression and are engaging suicidal ideation. And when asked about what is causing their depression a majority of them say it is because of bullying. So, I went to my child’s school to inform the staff members of this and advocate with hope of stricter policies against bullying as well as awareness of it. Hoefer (2016) suggest advocacy is necessary in the sense the client system’s problem is improved upon. Because it was very recently when I began to advocate for this issue, there are
