3 | P a g e INTRODUCTION Welcome to the subject of Quantitative Methods for Business. This course is dealing with the application of statistics and mathematics in solving business problems. There will be no prerequisites for this subject, even though you have struggled with mathematics or statistics in the past or have not taken any Mathematics subject in the pre-university, you still be able to do well in this course. Make use that all the resources at your disposal such as lecture notes, textbooks, tutorial questions and solutions to exercises. To prepare for your tutorial, read the material, attempt the exercise questions and keep notes on points of importance. Solutions will be available during tutorials, via TIMeS and in the main textbooks. Set up a regular weekly routine, keep an organize study timetable and spend at least 6- 8 hours a week for this subject. If you encounter any difficulty, do feel free to see your lecturer or tutors during his/her consultation hours.
