Smith Sam Smith Professor Otto English 1301 7-4-2007 Tarrant County Community College: A Stepping Stone Every high school student has a college that they dream they might some day be able to attend. However, in many cases, this dream may initially seem impossible to turn into a reality, unless a student takes small steps in order to some day be able to reach this greater objective. This is where junior colleges such as Tarrant County Community College come into play. TCC acts as a stepping stone for aspiring college students so that they might some day be able to fulfill their dream of attending a more prestigious college. TCC is an effective springboard for future students of major universities because it is cost efficient, its credits transfer to most major universities, and it is conveniently located near the homes of its students. Before reading this essay, there are a couple terms one must become familiar with. A “stepping stone” is a stage or step that helps achieve a goal. A “junior college”
