Common TasksHere you’ll find common tasks that cross all the services included with Office 365.Accessing the PortalMost activities with Office 365 are accessed from a single website -- the portal.1.Log InNavigate toportal.office.comand log inwith your new credentials.Click the "Keep me signedin" checkbox to speed upthis process in the future.2.Interface overviewIf you click the gear iconyou’ll see options for theapplication you’re currentlyin, or a shortcut for generalOffice 365 settings.3.Click the grid icon in the topleft to access the appdrawer. Here you will findOutlook, Calendar, People,Newsfeed/Yammer,OneDrive, Sites(SharePoint), Tasks, and theOffice Online Apps. (Delveand Video may not be thereand Admin will not be there)
4.You have the option to pinup to 3 apps to the nav barwhich will appear next tothe Gear menu in the topright. Click the ellipses onan app to open the contextmenu and select “Pin to navbar” for the 3 apps youaccess most often.
Changing Your PasswordBy default, Office 365 requires that you change your password every 90 days.Once your password has expired you will be unable to access your email, SharePointsites, Lync, etc. You'll need to log into the Microsoft Online portal to change yourpassword before you can access data again.1Log InNavigate toportal.office.comand log inwith your new credentials.Click the "Keep me signedin" checkbox to speed upthis process in the future.5.Change an Expired PasswordIf prompted, enter yourexisting password and thena new password. Note thatyou'll need at least onenumber and upper caseletter.If you did not get thisprompt, continue tomanually change yourpassword.6. Open Office 365 SettingsClick on the gear icon in theupper right and then select“Office 365 Settings”.
7.Change your PasswordClick “password” and thenenter your old password andconfirm your new password.
Download Setup SoftwareAll users should run the setup software on computers with Office 2010 that they intend touse frequently. This software ensures that your local computer works properly with Office365, particularly with SharePoint.1Log InNavigate toportal.office.comand log inwith your new credentials.Click the "Keep me signedin" checkbox to speed upthis process in the future.8. Open Office 365 SettingsClick on the gear icon in theupper right and then select“Office 365 Settings”.9. Open Software Menu
