Id: 1524318 Compare and Contrast Essay When comparing Mesopotamia with Indus River Valley Civilization during the early river valley civilizations, there were similarities and differences. They were similar in their environment and intellectual institutions. This was because they were both surrounded by rivers and its deposited silt helped them in their agricultural aspect of the society and due to natural resources it led to the development of technology. They were different in their environment and intellectual institutions because of their natural barriers and their buildings. Mesopotamia and Indus River Valley Civilization were similar and different in their environment institution. They were similar because both civilizations were in between rivers. Rivers made agriculture possible and trade possible. Mesopotamia was between Tigris and the Euphrates and was known as the "land between rivers".
