Lindsay Pack CWV 101 10/21/2018 Dr. Hoselton Benchmark - Gospel Essentials Have you ever wondered what your purpose here on earth is? Do you ever feel you have no idea why you are even present on the earth? Or have your thoughts ever lead you to wonder how you got here? How humanity even came into existence? If you are human, you most definitely have at least thought of these questions. The bible was given to us as an instruction booklet on how we are to live as Christians in this world. Looking at the Christian worldview, you can find clarity in every question you have in regards to your existence, purpose, and how you were created In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ("BibleGateway", 2018, p. Genesis 1:1) So who is God? Christians believe in only one God, God the Father. (BBC, 2009) God is unlike anything or anyone we could ever imagine. God is infinite. He was created by nothing and has existed forever. God never changes. He is all-powerful and all knowing. He is everywhere. God is wise, faithful, just, gracious, merciful, loving, good, and holy. God is sovereign. (Bible Study Tools, 2018) Everything in our universe and the universe itself is God’s. He created it all including us. God is the trinity; meaning He is one single being expressed in three distinct, simultaneous persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God made  humanity in his own image. 1

Human nature is the way of thinking, feeling, and acting. Humankind was created in God’s image and was supposed to live under God’s reign. God created Adam to live in the Garden of Eden and rule over all the land and seas for Him. He saw that it was a lot of work and gave him a helper, woman. He named her Eve. Adam and Eve should have feared and loved God, but instead, they wanted to be like Him. (Diffey, 2018). The fall of humanity was therefore introduced. This began the world’s direct spiral into sin and death spiritually and physically.
