INTRODUCTION In this experiment, we elaborated on the idea of Hooke’s Law. Hooke’s Law depicts the relationship between force and deformation. The applied force per unit area of the cross section that is subjected to the force is known as stress. The elastic limit may also be defined as the magnitude of applied stress that produces the maximum amount of recoverable deformation. Within the elastic limit when Hooke’s law holds valid, the ratio of compressive stress to strain is called Young Modulus of elasticity Y. As a group, we were able to go through with the lab by simply using a Young’s modulus apparatus, micrometer, bubble level, 7 weights with 1 kg each, and a 1 kg weight hanger. 2.
