Aftermath The first thing I realized about this poem is he uses many rhymes in this poem. The way that the author wrote this puzzles together by looking at the indentation of certain lines. I can tell the author of this poem gives hints on which line matches up with each other. The lines that are indented matches up with each other because the words in the end rhymes. The tone of this poem starts with happiness since he describes summer with birds and sweet new grass with flowers. Then when winter comes, he brings out crows that were cawing. crows represent things that are dark such as death, or unhappiness. This shows that the author does not really like the winter and prefers the summer time. I can really tell how the author feels about each season by his choice of words.
