CHEM 131 WEEK 2Good Morning John,I found your post to be very informational and intriguing. George Washington Carver was truly a“giant” of scientific history. He most certainly had to use chemistry in his experiments, especially when it comes to such discoveries as the peanut rubber that was used for cannons inWWII (National Peanut Board, 2016). Another interesting fact about Mr. Carver was that he didnot invent peanut butter! I, like many others, was under the impression that he was the inventorof peanut butter; however, according to Bagley (2013) and Karanja (2015) Carter did invent aversion of peanut butter but he was not the only one. For example, the founder of Kellogg cereal,Dr. John Kellogg, also had a peanut butter invention in 1895. Overall, I found this week’s plungeinto the past very interesting and I am looking forward to what is next.Good job!BridgetteBagley, M. (2013, December 6).
