JEAN WATSON THE CARING THEORISTJean Watson is considered to be the queen of the art of caring. Many scholar articles also describe her as the living legend of nursing. Jean Watson is a true inspiration to the nursing profession. Her theory is based of a conceptual model. After exploring Peplau’s Theory of Interpersonal Relations, NIghtingale’s Environment Theory, Kolcaba’s Theory of Comfort, King’s Theory of Goal Attainment, and Watson’s Philosophy and Science of Caring, it befitting to say that Jean Watson conceptual theory correlates with how I plan to continue to practice. JeanWatson point out that human being are valued people and deserve to be cared for, respected, nurtured, understood and assisted; in general a philosophical view of a person as a fully functional individual. Human is viewed as greater than and different from the sum of his or her parts (Nursing Theory, 2015)The Theorist BackgroundIn the 1970’s the caring theory was invented, it was centered around the interaction process with humans. This interaction can range from a nurse to patient or nurse to interdisciplinary team relationship. It is a essential for a nursing profession to understand the caring theory, due to the simple fact we deal with human being at some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Watson theory is centered around ten carative factors. These ten factors are the beginning of holistic care and it supports scientific and emotional aspect of the nursing profession (Wadsworth, 2012). Jean Watson beliefs were the tradition nursing and the advancement of scientific knowledge should be joined together. Her compositions are used to educate graduate nursing students and present them with ontological, ethical, and epistemological bases for the their own practice, along with a hint of research. Watson caring approach is taught in several baccalaureate nursing curriculums. These concepts are also used in numerous countries across the world.

The significance of preserving human dignity by assisting them to find a meaning in disease and suffering to recondition a human harmony is Watson focus. Many may view this as an immoral idea as being intangible and inaccessible. The mere fact that every nurse aim to be the best, makes you evaluate such idea. According to Cara (2013), in the midst of this the nurse can experience frustrations if he/she feel incongruent with his/her own moral idea. An ideal is simple a template for determining one’s practice. Phenomenon of ConcernJean Watson defined nursing as “a human science of persons and human health illness experiences that is mediated by professional, personal, scientific, esthetic and ethical human transactions” (Nursing Theory, 2015). Her nursing model focus on what nurses are general
