September 13th 2018 The Sweet but Sour Robot Denise Chow’s NBCnews article “This Killer Robot could Help Save the Great Barrier Reef. Here’s How,” was interesting and thought provoking read. She talked about the Dubbed RangerBot, a “killer robot with a good heart,” whose main goal is to monitor the health of the Great Barrier Reef. I thought this article was intriguing because it presented a possible solution to a detrimental activity occurring in our ocean. The Great Barrier reef, located in Australia, is enduring water pollution, overfishing, and warmer sea water from climate change. There are many grave concerns about the reef and its ability to survive. For instance, the Crown-of-thorns starfish are a great threat to the reef’s health. They are a coral eating species starfish that are covered in venomous spines and can grow almost to the size of a manhole cover,” according to Chow.
