The author goes ahead and gives examples on Macinnis and Mello and how their decisions of having hope conflict with the way their expectation of the consumer. The chapters of this article also specific themes control how the customer will be motivated through advertisement and media.The book also examines how motivational factors affect the consumption characters of consumers because of the cross-disciplinary approaches. This has made leading scholars to do a study on the area that touches on the issue of consumption (Richins, 2005). The research the authors made was connecting more with the interplay between the mind and the heart. Such factors as reflected by the authors show how such elements like the consumers, cultures, and communities come to value the fashion goods, brands and the objects of art both future and present (Richins, 2005). This was a contributing unique way they covered through the research toelaborate more on the consumer and consumption behavior.The Jerk is an American comedy that talks about Navin Johnson an adopted white son from a citizen of the African American sharecroppers who grew never knowing that he was adopted (Twitchell, 1995). Not only does he stand out because of his skin color but also because he also lacked rhythm because of his adoption. Navin then gets a job at a nearby gas station where Mr. Harry Haurtounian offeredhim a place to sleep. Navin was also excited when he realized that he was added to the local phone book because of his role at the station (Twitchell, 1995). However, after a short while, a gun-wielding lunatic after going through the phone book randomly pick Navin as a victim.Navin kept on hiding because the lunatic kept on chasing him to a traveling carnival. However, Navin managed to get himself another job. The article also showed how Navin dated a lady called Marie and falls in love with her (Twitchell, 1995). However, their relationship did notlast because Navin was broke. This forced Marie to dump him by writing a letter while Navin was taking a bath. The end chapters of the article show how Navin resigned because of the miseries of being left by Marie and ended up getting money sent by his family through the film
