The reason for this is because Madison is already so far north that if the axis of the earth was pushed to 45 degrees then the Madison would be hit with far less intense rays and would get almost half as much sunlight time, and this according to research would cause a dramatic loss in temperature since these are the two main factors. Summer time though would have much warmer temperatures. The reason for this is because since the axis would shift us up in the winter time when the earth is on one side of its rotation pointed towards the sun, in the summer, Madison would have sun when Madison is on the other side of the earth’s rotation. This causes direct intense rays to hit Madison with much more intensity and for longer periods of the day so the temperature would be much higher than its usual amount.
