Running header: PRECEPTIONS OF SEXUALITY AND AGING 2Sexual arousal of men and women is a physiological aspect in human sexuality. In their report Garrett and Tomlin stated that “the physiological sexual changes that occur in older men and women may affect their previous sexual function, however, such changes do not necessarily result in an inability to maintain sexual activity or coitus” (Garrett & Tomlin Para.12 June 2015).During the past few decades older women have been sexual attractive to younger men. This is depicted in the cartoon I choose to compile my assignment on. Through the years the sexual revolution in older women has increased and have been depicted in the media through cartoons movies and magazines. As I thought how I was going to approached this I thought that older women are being looked at as sex symbols as of late. So, I dug into the internet with key word MILF and Cougar. In the picture I chose you see a seductive older woman who looks to be very comfortable in her sexuality. The young man depicted looks to be surprised by the brash and sexual approach the mother of his friend is answering the door. The message that can be seen in the cartoon is a young man coming of age being sexually aroused and perused by an elderly woman twice his age. As women grow in age it was thought that a women’s sex drive diminished due to the changes in the body and sexual functions of the sexual organs.
