Lactic Acid Fermentation Lactic acid fermentation is a form of anaerobic respiration. The break down of glucose in the absence of oxygen. Lactic acid fermentation consists of two phases: 1. Glycolysis What was the end result of this process? 2 . Lactic acid formation Pyruvic acid is converted to lactic acid This requires energy from the NADH that was produced in phase 3 of glycolysis G3P being oxidized to form 1, 3 bisphosphoglyeric acid and NAD+ being reduced to NADH + H +--- remember???
