3Running head: CASE STUDY ANALYSIS: ADULTHOODLupe is a Mexican American woman, 45 years of age with two adult children and a granddaughter (age 2) by way of her daughter Lucia. The name of Lupe’s son is not mentioned within the case study. Lupe is a practical nurse at large hospital. Lupe resides in a little apartmentnearby, close to her mom’s house. It is noted that Lupe’s mother is in her late 60s and is very well self-reliant. Nonetheless, Lupe is the primary caretaker of her mother. Lupe has always given herself much responsibility in regard to caring for her family, especially her mother. Lupe was never legally married; however, she was in a long-term relationship where she considered herself to be married to father of her children. Lupe’s husband’s name was not given nor the agedof her children. At some point in time, Lupe and the father of her children dwelled in one home. However, Lupe’s husband left her and their children, once he felt as if he was unable to provide for his household and the overall of stress of family. Now that Lupe has experienced being singlefor 16 years, she would like to meet someone special, and possibly share her life with. Lupe hasn’t felt this was before, meaning that the feeling is new. Furthermore, Lupe felt that thinking of herself, wasn’t as important as raising her kids. With such thought, Lupe feels the pressure of time in regard to pursuing her own wants. Lupe envisions herself alone and old, just like her mother. Lupe has begun to attend social gatherings in the community and at her church. Not onlyin Lupe having issues with her personal life, but her daughter and granddaughter have moved back in, Lupe was injured on the job, suffering from depressions, and has started to stress about finances.Primary Issues
4Running head: CASE STUDY ANALYSIS: ADULTHOODMost adults in the US go into middle adulthood with either both parents living or one, however by the end of middle adulthood, 77% lost their parents and possibly contributed in a way to the watchfulness of their parents (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015). Lupe checks on her mother numerous times throughout the week, although her mother is reasonably able to do thingsfor herself. Lupe’s mother also doesn’t turn down the assistance of from her daughter. Although, Lupe feels that it’s her duty to check on her mother’s health and emotional being. The trials of being a parent, kinkeeper, and elderly caretaker can produce the possibility for mental and physical health problems (Broderick and Blewitt, 2015). Not only does Lupe check on her
