7-1 Discussion: Brittany Maynard Case Hi everyone, The Brittany Maynard Case speaks volumes both professional and personally for me. As far as my beliefs professional and personally they are one in the same. I believe that if a patient who is terminally ill and only has a few months left to live has the right to end their life as they deem fit to do so. In the case of Brittany Maynard she made the decision to end her life on her terms and not her cancer terms. Making and accepting an end of life decision is never easy for the patient or their love ones. In Brittany Maynard’s case she decided what was best for her and her family respected her decision. Even though they might not have agreed with it. They loved her and respected her decision just the same. However, I can clearly see where a person’s right to die challenges a healthcare professional’s ethical values. In the Hippocratic Oath they are sworn to up hold and preserve life no matter what their own beliefs are.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
