LAW VS.ETHICS 2 This paper will be about being an advisor to a health officer in a city that is medium sized in upstate New York, which is experiencing an increase in syphilis and a rise in HIV infection among a certain populace, whom are men who have intercourse with other men. The concern that the public health officer has is that some of the local colleges fraternity and sorority houses in the health district have a higher incidence of HIV and syphilis. It will also tell you about the belief of the public officer feelings that the sorority and the fraternity houses should be shut down and if that can be done by a government official and if she has the authority to do so, and if so is it an ethical justifiable decision. This paper will also tell if I believe that public health officials should have the authority to close the sorority houses and I think that they should be able to whether or not and what should be done in this scenario and why it should be done. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that can be cured, but can also cause major issues if it is not treated. Syphilis is divided into four different stages, which are primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary. The signs as well as the symptoms that is associated with this disease are all different in each stage. A person can get this disease by having direct contact through vaginal, oral, and anal sex.
