Based on what you have seen can you establish any causation?Do you see any similarities between the accident simulation and another accident discussed in this course?The NTSB Aircraft Accident Report AAR-01/02 used in the module 5 report, is what the Virtual Crash Lab appears to be modeled off of. The NTSB (2001) AAR-01/02 report states “that the probable causes of this accident were the flight crew’s failure to discontinue the approach when severe thunderstorms and their associated hazards to flight operations had moved into the airport area and the crew’s failure to ensure that the spoilers had extended after touchdown”. The flight crew’s failure to discontinue the approach holds true for the PEAK Airlines incident, however we do not have evidence that the spoilers did not extend during touchdown. The lack of evidence comes from not having access to the Flight Data Recorder information, and only relying on seeing the spoilers visually in the post-crash condition. Both spoilers show to be in the deployed position but
