Hoffer, William James Hull. "Plessy V. Ferguson: The Effects Of Lawyering On A Challenge To Jim Crow." Journal Of Supreme Court History 39.1 (2014): 1-21. America: History and Life with Full Text . Professor Hoffer has a Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University, a J.D. at Harvard University Law School, and B.A. at Rutgers University, He teaches a number of subjects including legal, economic and military history all with a view towards understanding how governments change and are affected by change with a focus on the United States. As lawyer and historian, he combines a number of different techniques not necessarily to find answers, but to start asking good questions. He brings this perspective to his research as well, which concentrates on political and legal history in the modern U.S. though future projects will look earlier.
