EMARI , BRIANNA , MARIO AND JANYAH Mock Trial , Rae Concha Defense team Opening Statement:Good afternoon/morning your honor. Rosewood High School has never had a serious drugproblem, until the year of 2012 came and the school took a turn for the worse. Rae Concha, a formerRosewood High School graduate who attended Rosewood High since 9th grade. Rae Concha enjoyshelping out the people in need and the best volunteer at the Achieve program Rae attends for communityservice hours for school is being accused of selling Adderall. Adderall is a drug used to treat people whoare diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder also known as ADHD. People with ADHD onlyhave access to adderall with a doctor’s prescription. On average a teenager takes 3 of these pills with20mgs in each pill daily. Rae Concha has access to these drugs because she is diagnosed with ADHD since10th grade. Rae Concha is here with us today because she was charged with second-degree murder andpossession with the intent to sell controlled substance, in this case Adderall. The drug problem came to light when Alex Weaver was expelled and transferred to RosewoodHigh school. Jason Johnson was soon found dead because of mixing adderall and alcohol together. Mydefendant, Rae Cocha, is being held accountable for the death of Jason Johnson. Jason Johnson had a heartcondition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (hypertrophic cardiomyop o thee) also known as HC, acongenital heart defect. Jason drank alcohol while taking Adderall. Alone these mixes are dangerous, butbecause of Jason's heart condition, it slows down his blood flow to his heart making it two times moredangerous than if someone else did the same thing. After Jason’s death , Alex Weaver was the person whomade the complaint about Rae Concha. Officer Robin Doherty was a undercover cop with a fake identityof Sam Shumway and his job was to figure out who was selling the Adderall to the students at RosewoodHigh school. Since the night of February, 22nd Officer Doherty was very suspicious of Rae Concha until she wasput in handcuffs. Once Rae was caught, she claimed that she never sold Adderall to Jason or any otherperson. The witnesses we have today will tell the stories that prove my defendant, Rae Concha, is innocentof all charges. Case Outline
❖We intend to prove that Rae Concha is innocent of selling Adderall illegally and was notresponsible for Jason's death. ❖The top facts that are beneficial to our case is that Jason was spiraling out of control even thoughhe had a severe heart problem. And the fact that Alex was so jealous of Rae, it is possible that heframed her. Also Rae had prescriptions to Adderall and The cords on Rae’s backpack is differentthan the one found in her car.
