Unit 7: Case 7 – Contempo-Cog School SystemThe teaching team at the Questions Middleschool in the Contempo-Cog School System is gathered to discuss some curriculum revisions that are to be made in the fourth- through eighth- grade curriculum. The staff has agreed that a “one size fits all” curriculum is not going to enable every child to gain the cognitive and languageproficiency that they will need to handle the abstract thinking required in high school. Principal Solver has obtained some funds to bring in a few important guest speakers to the school to give advice about how the curriculum should be revised tofoster the highest levels of thinking possible. The speakers are Drs. Case, Fischer, Bruner, and Elkind, each of who will outline their views of what children’s educational needs are during this age period.
